Honkers has been successfully expanding in sales every year since our inception. ‘Local’ is the keyword in the day to day operations of our business. We use other locally owned businesses where ever possible, even if it cuts into our bottom dollar. We are very enthusiastic when it comes to being involved with community events and charities, and we proudly display the recognition letters from charities and other businesses we collaborate with citing our contributions and donations. We also take great pride in the fact that we serve as much homemade product as possible to maintain a healthier (and MSG free) food experience for our patrons at a reasonable price. In the past 2 years Honkers Pub has undergone a complete cosmetic transformation. There are two things that make our renovation unique; the first is that it was imperative to us that every tradesman we hired was also a customer (our mindset was ‘they support us so we will support them’). Secondly, the interior was designed with the needs of our patrons in mind: the seating has been arranged to accommodate specific functions hosted by some of our regulars and we have integrated several requested amenities, such as a dart board, ping pong table and more televisions. We make an effort to keep up with technological advances, particularly in our POS system to increase efficiency for our staff and inventory purposes, with the added benefit of better service and prices for our customers. Our dedication to keeping the pub technologically updated, clean and well above public standards has earned us accolades from the Food and Health Inspection Board and Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.

Palate Pleasers Catering was originally started by Vicky (Vic) Miller in 1988 with Bob Lawrence and his wife Maria coming on as chefs in 1992. Five years later Bob, a red seal chef became a partner with Vic and they purchased Honkers Pub & Eatery in 1997. Honkers is an independent and locally owned business that has been in operation for over 14 years and employs full time and many part time employees.
As for the environment, it is important to us that we take steps to reduce our carbon footprint; we have installed motion-activated water faucets, we recycle (bottles, cardboard and even our cooking oil!) and we use products made from recycled materials as much as possible, from the floor mats to the paper in our printers
