Palate Pleasers Catering was originally started by Vicky (Vic) Miller's in 1988 with Bob Lawrence and his wife Maria coming on as chefs in 1992. Five years later Bob became a partner with Vic and they purchased Honkers Pub & Eatery in 1997.

Vic and Bob, pictured here,  work hands-on with the staff and customers.  Vic works on the floor bartending and serving customers while Bob, along with his wife, Maria and kitchen staff keep the kitchen humming.  

Bob is a Red Seal Chef. He takes great pride in the “quality of his product”.  Both companies can boast that they prepare all food on the premises and do not add preservatives to anything.

Customer service is paramount with Vic and Bob as they endeavor to please their customer's tastes, schedules, budgets, and, will modify any item to meet special dietary preferences. Regulars say that Bob's homemade soups, sauces and extra touches are what makes the food so good. That, along with Vic's welcoming grin and the staff's devotion to ensuring you have an enjoyable experience, is what keeps people coming back.  We are like the "Cheers" Pub in fact we have our own Norm and Carla as well.

One menu item that Bob has created is the popular Honkers Famous Ribs.  These boneless pork ribs, in a special marinate, are available in six different flavors - Honkers Famous Ribs is an item other restaurants are trying to get the recipe for.

When Bob is not cooking, you can chalk your pool stick and challenge him to a game. Now, realistically, you'll never beat his cooking but you may come close to beating him at pool.  When Vic is not working the floor or bartending she uses her background in Marketing and Public Relations to promote d Honkers. This picture is of the inside of the pub.

Our Staff  

Fourteen friendly service staff, many who have been with the company since 1992, work in a family environment.      The staff will make your short stop or evening out and enjoyable one. "We're kinda like a 'Cheers" relaxing atmosphere," says Vic, as the pub has a large screen TV, pool tables, VLT's and darts.

Community commitment:

Honkers believes in giving back to the community. It sponsors a variety of sports teams: pool, bowling teams. For all sports teams, even those Honkers does not sponsor, receive Happy Hour prices on any day at any time!

We support and participate in several charity and community events throughout the year. The company also believes in supporting local businesses by using as much local product as feasible.
